This project consists of renovating and upgrading existing facades for 2 buildings on the main street of Montclair, New Jersey.

Before construction
The initial design scheme assumed that once we stripped the existing facades away that there would be nothing there to salvage. This is what the initial scheme looked like:

Design Scheme 1
This project falls within an historic district. During the course of initial demolition it was determined that there was a portion of the facade that was deemed historically significant by the Montclair Historic Preservation Committee.

As a result of the initial demolition and the found historic fabric the design of the facades was altered. The present design looks like this:
